Intermediate HTML I or II
Class Description

This class is designed for students who have taken my HTML Basics class or who already have an understanding of the basics of HTML and some actual experience creating Web pages with HTML. I offer two different versions of this class.

Intermediate HTML I is a one day hands-on workshop that focuses exclusively on learning tables and frames. This class is recommended for anyone who needs or wants to quickly get up to speed on how to format and layout Web pages with these features.

Intermediate HTML II is two-day hands-on workshop that covers all the HTML tags and extensions students need to know to:

  • Construct and format both simple and complex (i.e. nested) tables
  • Create multi-frame Web pages
  • Convert images into image maps and place them on a Web page
  • Create and properly format HTML forms to work with CGI scripts

Exercises are designed to help students:

  • Learn how to control the layout of Web pages using tables and/or frames and the pros and cons of working with each
  • Understand how to make and use image maps
  • Know all the elements of a form, when to use which, and how to place them on a page

This class is recommended for those who have a firm grasp of the basics and are ready to progress to the next level of comprehension. More topics are covered and there is a heavy emphasis on mastering the use of tables.
