Class Description
This one-day workshop is designed for nonprofits or anyone who is new to the Internet and wants to understand the different ways that resources on the Internet (e-mail, newsgroups, and the World Wide Web) can be used to promote their organization and further its agenda.
In addition to reviewing what other organizations are already doing online, we'll spend part of the afternoon doing an exercise that can help you evaluate these tools and design a basic action plan for marketing online.

- What the Internet is and how it works
- What the different resources/services of the Internet are and how you can use them to augment your organization's marketing efforts
- What a Web site is and how it works
- The different ways in which companies and nonprofits are using the Web
- What the costs are for getting online and making use of the different tools and technologies
- What is involved in putting up and maintaining a Web site
- How to decide whether building a Web site is the right decision for your organization
- How to develop your own online marketing strategy
